Birthday Parties In L.A.

Last week's party was a typical L.A. party for a one-year-old: Pony rides, an ice cream bar, and rock star dad. Let me rephrase that: It was a typical San Fernando Valley L.A. party. A party in L.A. proper would have had an elephant who was greeting people. You think I'm making that up?!?

Yesterday's party, on the other hand, was a bouncy house with slide and Wonder Woman (with smaller breasts than I remember) and Superman leading the games for the kiddies. And for the adults? Late 70's and early 80's disco music in the background--hooray! And most importantly, BOXED WINE! That's one thing I'll say in defense of historic California parks--where yesterday's party was held--in comparison with N.C. parks. The California park had two or three officers prowling around and no one seemed to mind the BOXED WINE. Heavenly!

Speaking of birthday parties, how appropriate that the day before yet another Disney birthday party, this article was published, my first on www.lewrockwell.com!
